Tamara DeRidder serves as Principal of TDR & Associate – Land Use Planning and Public Engagement. She is also the Property Manager for D & C Rentals, managing four properties for her and her wife, Ayana Craven. She moved to Portland from Knoxville, TN., in 1985 and completed her Masters in Urban Planning at PSU. She has served as the Planning Director in the cities of Sandy, Oregon City, Vancouver (WA), and Fairview. In her own business Tamara has focused on public facility developments and designing pocket neighborhoods for smaller, fee-simple housing sites. She assists clients dealing with zoning and land use development throughout the Metro area.

Tamara is requesting consideration as Chairwoman for the RCPNA Board. She has served on the Board since 2008 and was elected Chairwoman in 2014. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Land Use and Transportation Committee with Kelly Davis. Over the past year she has led the Diversity Subcommittee in developing RCPNA’s Land Acknowledgement Statement and Neighborhood Agreements, honoring diversity. She is extremely concerned about Climate Change and daily implements measures to reduce her impact. Tamara believes we can work together to enhance safety, equity, and health of our community. It is her hope that the future RCPNA meetings will become hybrid, allowing for Zoom and in-person meetings to co-exist.
